ZIMBABWE "THE POOREST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD"

So I was just browsing around on facebook  and I come across a friend's picture.. (will not state). Read it carefully.. "HELP THE WORLD'S POOREST COUNTRY FOR FREE".. This picture was uploaded onto facebook on Monay 25th of April. I last went to Zimbabwe in 2010, I visit my country at least twice a year, I do not only go to the "plush locations" where there are no poor people in sight, but I do however go to the village to visit people. I must say that things (economically) have picked up in Zimbabwe over the past few years, the country is now using USD and the economy is stable. Many people are investing in the country and lots of people are moving back and starting projects in the country because they know that things ARE BETTER NOW. When I saw this picture I WAS DEEPLY INFURIATED, not because of the fact that this "Hussain" person is trying to help the people of my country but the means in which HE/SHE did it, it is stated in bold capital letters with red text to show emphasis "CLOTHING COLLECTION FOR ZIMBABWE"FREE" I do not know whether or not this individual/organisation has done proper research in Zimbabwe's economy but according to Wikipedia, Zimbabwe is ranked at 153 out of 182 and had a GDP of $4,644 mill in 2010, I can only go by the information that was collected in 2010 because of the fact that I could not find any figures for 2011 but I do know for a fact that the Zimbabwean economy has improved since 2010. Zimbabwe may not have been at the top of the ranks but it surely wasn't at the bottom of the pile so I really do not understand where "Hussain" got his/her figures from in order to conclude that ZIMBABWE IS THE POOREST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. This is an absurd claim and I do really urge you "Hussain" to do further research when designing your posters and before publishing them. I understand that you are doing it to help the less priviledged and I thank you for that, it is for a good cause but please, do not advertise under false pretences..x Quein
